I’m Frank Nichols.  I live with my husband Chas in Manhattan, on the upper east side.

I have been dealing with Chordal Melanoma since being diagnosed in February 2011.  Since then, the cancer has metastasized to the liver.

To combat this, my oncologist put me on an immunotherapy that, in essence, wiped out the beta cells in my pancreas.  I have been a type 1 diabetic since May 2015.

Meal time was a real bitch.  I started out going really low carb, but, I had problems losing weight.

So, with the help of my husband, we have been able to eat good, low carb meals.
